Audi A3 2009 Automatic. All working fine except when I put it in reverse and rev it just doesn't move.. Everything else seems to be fine.
Sounds like tranny is not engaging in reverse when you shift to "R." While stepping on brake pedal and in neutral, shift to "D" and you should feel gear engaging. Now back to neutral, you should feel gear disengage. Now shift to "R;" if you don't feel gear engage, it might be a linkage issue. All the forward gears respond because there's linkage, but not "R" because linkage is severed.
Run fault codes and look for faulty TCM and reverse servo .

Not overly familiar with Audis but it sounds like either a.) you have an electronic tranny that has a serious bug or b.) there's a problem in the computer of the car itself. What is sounds like is the car is taking a long time to "understand" that you're telling it to move forward. How new is the car? When you push on the gas before the three minutes, what happens?

How do I locate the sensor on a 2003 A4 1.8L? I see a blue sensor on the right by the firewall, and a green sensor on the left nearer to the battery on the left. Is it possible that I already have a green sensor in my car?

have you checked the brake lights for operation ?
if they don't work than it is your brake light switch located on the pedal support bracket.
