code p 1260 refers to vehicle immobil;izer invalid ignition key/immobilizer system fault
try using the scan tool to reset the ECM or talk with a dealer service center for the immobilizer problem
make sure that the battery in the key fob is fully charged if it just happened
No where in the DTC - description does it say anything about replacing any modules . An does not have anything to do with a communication problem ! You need a professional grade scan tool to communicate with the PATS system ! An if you don't know these thing's you better take it to pro !!!!!!!
P1260 - Theft Detected - Vehicle Immobilized
Indicates that the passive anti-theft system (PATS) has determined a theft condition existed and the engine is disabled. This DTC is a good indicator to check the PATS for DTCs.
Previous theft condition
Anti-Theft System failure
Theft indicator flashing rapidly or on solid when ignition switch is in the ON position. Check anti-theft system for DTCs. Typical vehicle symptoms are: Start/Stall or Crank/No Start. NOTE: No crank symptom only on vehicles equipped with PATS starter disable feature
P1260 code:
Vehicle Immobilized Indicates that the Passive Anti-Theft system (PATS) has determined a theft condition existed and the engine is disabled. This Detected Trouble Code (DTC) is a good indicator to check the PATS for DTCs. Previous theft condition Anti-Theft System failure Theft indicator flashing rapidly or on solid when ignition switch is in the ON position. Check anti-theft system for DTCs.
code p1105 refers to manifold absolute pressure(MAP) sensor, TC system-leak detected. causes ---intake leak, ---hoses There are to references to p1105 The second response is still map sensor but the causes are---TC system--mechanical fault--air leak between throttle body-TC,map sensor---TC system--exhaust blockage code p1260 refers to throttle return spring--weak spring force. causes ---mechanical fault,--,throttle control unit code p1264 refers to throttle valve opening-accelerator released causes ---throttle control unit---mechanical fault
The fault code 53 is an ECM IMMOBILIZED ERROR. The immobilizer anti-theft system thinks the key is invalid. If it detects an error, it will; Disable the fuel injector circuit--- Disable the fuel pump circuit---Disable the ignition coil.
Code 53 will set when: 1- The Eectronic Control Module (ECM) does not receive the signal from the Immobilizer Control Unit (ICU) within 0.9 seconds when vehicle is stationary, or 1.8 seconds when vehicle is moving. 2- The ICU sends the ECM an incorrect release message more than 5 times. 3- The above conditions continue until the ignition is switched off.
P1260 that is anti theft code, The definition is Theft detected, vehicle immobilized, Your going to have to bring in a mobil locksmith in and have immobilizer reset. Or try this put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ACC 3 times fast and leave the key in for at least 10 minutes. Then try to start the vehicle because there is a possibility the ant theft will accept the keys agian. by the way youll always have this problem it always fails to accepts its own keys
P1260 indicates that the Passive Anti Theft system (PATS) detected a
"theft condition". This basically means an incorrect signal, or no
signal at all was received from the chipped key. Brief overview: your
ignition key has a chip in it called a transponder that is read by the
PATS transceiver (mounted around the ignition cylinder housing behind
the column shroud). The signal is then sent to the PATS control module,
which communicates with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and enables
the vehicle to start. Sorry for all the acronyms! When an incorrect
signal is received, the PATS module then sends this message to the PCM
which triggers the P1260 trouble code, resulting in a no start
condition.
Possible causes are: an incorrect key being used, faulty key
chip (transponder), wiring concerns between the transceiver module and
PATS module, the transceiver module itself or internal PATS or PCM
module concerns. The first thing to do in this instance is retrieve
codes from the PATS module and diagnose these. Once the PATS issues have
been resolved you can reset the P1260. Communication with the PATS
module will likely need to be done at a Ford dealer. A few things to
check first: make sure the correct key is being used, and if you have a
second key, try that one as well. If one key starts it but not the
other, you may have a faulty key. If both keys do not work, then it is
not likely a key problem.
Honestly, we see very few problems with the
keys themselves. Make sure no one has tampered with the steering column
shroud as the transceiver module located behind it is fairly fragile.
Lastly check for an aftermarket remote start system. These are a common
cause of no start problems with PATS equipped vehicles. Some installers
will remove the chip from your key and tape it to the column (under the
shroud). This basically bypasses the system and allows it to be started
without a chipped key. The problem is that the transponder removed from
the key is not designed to be used in this way and can fail due to
extreme temperature changes and, depending on mounting condition,
excessive vibration and shock. Other installers use a "key box"
installed under the dash, and these have been known to cause issues as
well. If you suspect the concern to be related to a remote start it may
not be a bad idea to have it checked or removed to complete diagnosis.
