Radiator fan will not turn off in my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My 2000 jeep grand cherokee radiator fan will not turn off. I can turn the ignition off and the fan still runs. No error codes come up. What is the problem and solution?

Usually the engine relay or cooling fan relay..!

    if it stays on open the hood find the relays sometimes just tapping on some with screw driver will flip the solenoid back ... the proper way is to disconnect them and test for ohms with a dmm or a fluke

Noise coming from radiator cooling fan in 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.0
Typically you need to replace the fan clutch. (This is presuming that you are not overheating and not near too hot. Under hot condition, your issue is normal.) The clutch can fail in the locked position.

If the fans don't come on to cool the radiator then maybe it's the thermal fan switch, which sends the turn on signal to the fan relay, that might be bad.

I'm trying to locate the thermostat on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee
  1. On 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8
  2. Remove lower radiator hose clamp and lower radiator hose at thermostat housing.
  3. Remove thermostat housing mounting bolts, thermostat housing and thermostat.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l v6Note:on the In-line 6 4.0L model the thermostat housing is mounted at the top of the engine block next to the water pump.
