Emmit. I assume it blows air, just not hot? If that's the case, the control valve is faulty or probably unhooked. It will be in the heater hoses visable under the hood. Look for an unhooked cable (if its cable type..very visable) or unhooked or damaged vacumn line. Good luck.
If you dont have the proper gages and know how to test for leaks I would suggest to leave it alone and take it to a garage where they have the know how and tools for the job.
the most common cause of course is a low system refrigerent charge, this would be due to a leak, the most common cause of leakage is the front shaft seal of the AC compressor
it probably is low on freon....try listening under the hood for a clicking sound, while have someone turn the a/c on and off from in\side the car.....if no clicking sound then your compressor is not turning on....low freon.....
