About 1 year ago, locking system stopped working, then interior lights. lights sometimes come back, but not for long. Gas door also would not open to refuel, so i pried into it. 2 nights ago alarm started going off, about every half hour, and car told me the trunk lid was open. alarm went off immediately when i opened trunk. last night car would not start, battery IS NOT DEAD. can hear starter solenoid, but won't turn over. So, i rolled and jump started it this morning. no more alarm going off, but still says the trunk lid is open. Could this be a computer problem? could all of these events be related somehow? can't find any blown fuses.

put key in ignition and turn to on position, engine not running, with door open. Then press unlock button, lock button. If door lock cycles lock, unlock, it was out of synchronisation and will now work. if not there is another problem with the system. with the interior light switch set on door, do all door switches work or turn the interior light on when opening the door?
there were 2 different separate remote keys rectangle or heart shaped which on do you have. hopefully you have the rectangle one. both of these types have a programming procedure you could carry out but it is dependant on 10th digit in VIN number (year model) for procedure. later models had buttons in mechanical key head.
this problem i have repaired many times.. it is normally a broken wire in the flexible rubber tube between the door and the doorjamb from years of flexing back and forth when you open and close the door.. i hope that helps
hi ya it seems one of the door switches is broken or disengaged on each door frame you will find a push in switch witch operates the interior light, door warning light on dash and remote locking if one of them is not working it will show on dash as a door not closed it will prevent the interior light from working and also stop the auto locking system from working properly the locking system is connected to the interior lights
Hope yhis helps
It could very well be the dimmer switch. There is a plastic cover around the steering wheel held by a few screws. Remove the cover & replace the switch. First check headlight grounds for good connection. A common problem with well used cars is that after opening & closing the drivers door 2 million times the electical wires at the flex point where the door harness flexs tend to break. Open outer cover & pry back to expose the wires inside. The ones that are broken are the culprits. Hope this helps you & please recommend advice.
Ikvidal, you have a wiring issue in the door jam, door locks are a multiplex low voltage system, 4.99 volts to 1.1 volts. also check inside drivers side kickpad area. possible corrision. GOOD LUCK.
The wires that go into the doors has probably broken from opening and closing the doors. They run though a rubber boot where the hinges are. Check all the doors wires. This is a common problem and i have fix many jeeps with these problems.
