There's another fuse location (on my 99 SL1 anyway) under the right front panel of the center console in the passenger compartment. Check fuses with a test light (cheap and easy to use).
First check your positive battery cable. I have seen, especially on the Saturn, where the positive cable gets corroded through the cable and will not allow any power through it. Also check all fuses in the fuse box under the hood, especially the large green 30 amp fuses. If that does not help then check the fusible link between the starter and the alternator. I have seem some of those fail, but usually the car still had power.
it is very easy-for starters there is no distributor,it has an ignition module which is located on the right side off the engine in front-just follow the spark plug wires.the plugs are very easy to get to. on an sl1 the plugs are right below the valve cover-just remove the plug wires and replace the plugs and probably wire also-unless the coils are bad(corroded)you shouldnt have to replace the ignition module.
1. Raise the front of the car and support on jack stands. 2. Remove negative battery cable. 3. Crawl under the car and locate the starter. 4. Remove 13 mm nut securing power cable to the starter and pull cable to the side. 5. Remove 10 mm nut securing the ignition wire to the solenoid and pull wire to the side. 6. Using a ratchet with a 13 mm socket and 6" extension, remove the 2 bolts securing the starter to the transmission. 7. Remove starter.
