Air not blowing through vents

I started my car in 11 degree weather today. The heater was turned onto the first air level. When it started there was hardly any air coming out. I turned the air level up one more notch, it made a pop sound and air will not come out at all, even when the vehicle is fully warmed up.

Yippee. Some little actuator pulled off it's connection, 'cause the little door was stuck from the cold. When I have this kind of problem, I Google it. See if other folks have experience, to tell where you should look. Chasing duct problems is real tough.

If the coolant level is good, try the thermostat and if it's not that,it may be the heater coil is plugged.

SOURCE: Fully warmed up; blowing hot and cold; Suzuki XL-7

Its just a vent damper plate not operating, it's like a gate which controls the flow of air,,usually they are operated by vacuum, or cables.
Service center time, unless you are handy with your own repairs.

SOURCE: Blower speed question (ac/heater). This just

This is definitely 100% the Blower Motor Resistor.
Replace this and all speeds will work fine.
This Resistor is defined with 3 to 4 wires going into it, and is located adjacent to the Blower Motor.
It is easily access, removed and replaced.
I will post an additional comment on Part Number, Price and where available.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

SOURCE: the heater/vent system will not blow warm/hot air

On a newer truck such as yours, the problem is usually the blend door actuator. First try a recalibrations of the system. Remove the HVAC fuse for a couple minutes and then put it back in. Start the truck and let it idle for a few minutes. Check to see if that fixed it.
If not, next check the actuator. I will paste instructions below for taking it out. Once you have it out, plug the connector back in and see if it turns when you change the temperature control. If not, the problem can be in the controller or the actuator. If it is clicking, the problem is stripped gears. If it isn't doing anything, you can check for voltage at the connector with a voltmeter. Connect the black meter lead to a good ground point and probe the connector terminals with the red lead while changing the temperature setting. The part costs $140, so do what you can to make sure it's bad before putting a new one in. A/C will only blow through defrost vents

Common question on this site. On late model cars, the vents are controlled by blend door motors. Small electric motors open and close doors to direct air flow.
Chances are you have a blend door that is stuck or a failed motor.
The default position is the defrost to make sure the windshield is always clear.
Someone will need to look behind the dash to see if all of the doors will move on demand.

Heater blows cold air from top vents after running for 1.3 hours

Sounds like you may be able to fix it by flushing your antifreeze and back flushing the heater core. Some car owners cheep out and put stop leak into the antifreeze, others dont change there antifreeze at all. Both are mistakes.

Faulty Fan Heater - The main vents are just blowing out cold air.

all cars have a recycled air weather its called max or just recycle its doing the same thing. So if your getting cold air in one spot and hot in another it means your vents are not blocking where they are suposed to. It could be just a simple fix, by getting into the dash where your vent controls are and looking at the flap that tells air where it can and cant go. if its stuck then it needs to be cleaned and oiled. If the cable is corrodend clean it and oil it so it can move freely, or just reconnecting it may be the fix. it sounds like you are going to have to be adventurous, and play with the mechanics of your vents. Typicaly theres really nothing tough there to work on, just REMEMBER WHEERE ALL THE SCROOS AND CLIPS GO. I have forgotten where a few went in the past and had to listen to sqeaking noises till I took it apart again. There are vent seals wich are no more than the weather stripping you buy at the hardware store the 1/8 inch thick tape. You may need to thin it down with a razor, usually not. but it works great for fixing the seals in car heaters, because its the same thng just a different color. Which no one will ever see.

Car just blows out cold air from heater

there is something wrong with your coolant system. Turn your car on, check your fan. If the fan runs nonstop, your relay switch to the fan needs to be changed. If its not the fan, its the thermostat. The thermostat is broke. If the thermostat is broke, it prevents your vehicle from warming up. The thermostat is a temperature Regulator for the engine. If your antifreeze is running nonstop in a circular motion, your engine will run cold. Your engine wont start that cold in the winter either.
