AC I don't see any recalls for the AC on my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan but under the common problem section it states: Heating & Air Conditioning Coolant leaks coming from the underbody on vehicles equipped with rear heat/AC are common. Recalls address this issue; however, if you drive on roads where salt is prevalent, have the underbody hoses inspected as part of regular maintenance. Was there a recall? I put 2 cans of AC charge in it and it worked for 15 minutes, I think it's rusted along the line. Will the dealer cover this if it's a recall? What is the cheapest way to fix this?

Best place to start is by calling Chrysler owner relations with your vin#. Number to call should be in your owners manual. Sometimes the dealer will fluff you off, but if owner relations says they'll help, then you have a leg up on the dealer.

01- Dodge Caravan AC Heater Control it only works on high none of the speeds work when I rotate the switch from low to high. Is this a swith problem or a motor problem?

Most likely neither. The most common cause is that an electrical device called the blower motor resister block, has failed. This device provides all the slower speeds. It is generally mounted in the HVAC [Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning] box, very close to the blower motor. FYI, we mechanics call the fan motor inside the cabin the blower motor. The electric fan motor behind the radiator is called the cooling fan motor.
If the resistor block is OK, then you have either a bad fan speed switch or a melted electrical connector at that switch. 95% of the time, the resister block is the problem.

I have a 2002 dodge gr. Caravan. It has started every now and then when I brake the pedal pulsates real bad (as if my car needs the abs to be working) then my abs light will come on. Once the light comes...

recall...........................................
  • SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Recall for 2002 DODGE CARAVAN
    • Recall Announced MARCH 13 2006
    • NHTSA Reference #06E022000
    • Number Affected 7,440
Summary: Certain aftermarket brake hydraulic master cylinders sold as replacement brake cylinders for certain Ford, DaimlerChrysler, and Jeep passenger vehicles. These brake cylinders were sold under the brand names of Napa, raybestos, aimco, ac delco, Carquest, bendix, and wagner. Only products that were manufactured from July 27, 2005 through January 17, 2006 (date codes 0529 through 0602) are subject to this recall. When subject to very cold temperatures, an internal seal in the master cylinder could lose flexibility and may cause brake fluid to leak.
Consequence: Loss of brake fluid can lead to a decrease in brake line pressure and an increase in stopping distance, which can result in a vehicle crash.
Fix: Affinia (brake parts, Inc.) will replace the subject brake hydraulic master cylinders free of charge. The recall began on March 20, 2006. Owners can contact affina group customer service at 1-800-323-0354.

Sounds like you need to replace the cabin air filter. Here is a link to a page that shows you that this filter is located up under the dash behind the glove box. You do not need to remove the glove box. Just look up under. You will see it. Visit this web site. Dodge Grand Caravan cabin air filter location From year 2001 2002 2003...

Is there a recall for 2006 dodge grand caravan sxt with rear air conditioning leaking?

I have the same problem with my Grand Caravan 2000 model. I fixed it once where it cost me approx $1500. We travel on a lot of gravel and it is Winter here a lot. Because the lines are right behind the wheel on the passenger side (what a silly place for such and important piece). It broke again anyway and now another $1500. Not!
I did find after much searching some parts on StreetRodGuys.com . It is a couple of pieces that screw onto the lines going to the back....thereby blocking the rear air off. We really didn't use it that much anyway...the rear that is. They say that when you recharge it to use about a pound less freon when it is recharged. Part is around $50. I plan on using R12a which is colder freon than R134a or R12 so should work fine. Parts just came this week.

Makes it much more bearable in the heat.

Chrysler has recently extended the warranty for this problem to 7 years/70,000 miles. They will also pay for repairs you have already had on this rear evaporator. Contact your dealer or call 800-992-1997.
