My brights were working intermittently and then stopped altogether. low beams still work but worried they might stop on me at night? Expensive fix or where to start narrowing it down with an easy fix.

SOURCE: LOW BEAM LIGHTS

Hi Rich Million,

Check the bulbs for the low beam problem and if they're ok, check the fuses under the bonnet (hood) which are found in the fuse box. If you've already checked those, go to the fuse box inside the vehicle.

Still no luck....remember that there are fuses and relays inside the cabin behind the kick panel.....You may find that there is a problem with the main fuse box.....If you drive over rough terrain, check the connections under the main fuse box....even if your roads are all smooth, it's still worth checking.....

SOURCE: 2001 Toyota Corolla high beam lights are not

Your switch must be working since your indicator is telling you when the high beams are on, so my guess is that your bulbs are faulty. The high beam part. They probably burnt out one at a time, so you didn't notice until the second one went. Change your bulbs, and see if that solves it. If not, let me know.

SOURCE: Toyot Previa - high mounted stop light

This is slightly counter-intuitive, but the plastic lens needs to go in and up before it comes out. After removing the two screws, use something thin and flat to pull down on the underside painted part of the wing between the two screws. A little bit of prying downwards. Two raised lips become visible - they are holding the lens from being able to be pushed up and in. A second pair of hands could help. Then use your thumbs on the lens close to the screws, gripping with your fingers on the top of the wing and squeeze up. POP!

This could be a grounding problem. Check all battery connections. Also check motor to body ground strap for corrosion. Check battery to motor ground and battery to body ground. Even if the ground looks allright it can be corroder underneath, so you have to take the ground bolt off to clean it.

2000 Toyota Celica GTS headlights out

The globes filament for low beam are most likely both blown . Check if the plug is getting voltage when the low beam is on or buy a replacement globe and check if this is the case.
How do you know both low beams stopped at the same time ?
They most likely blown at different times but you notice it when both go out and you have zero light. Had this happen to me on a ford falcon EA . Was the globes.
Try not to handle the glass on the replacement globes if Halcyon globes .
