SOURCE: 1992 HONDA ACCORD WILL CRANK BUT NOT START

No spark is uasually caused by a faulty coil or the trigger unit, both are inside the distributor. Get a used distributor fron a scrap yard (about $4o) and replace yours.Remove the dis.cap and turn the engine until the rotor is pointing to fire # 1 cyclinder, and mark the exact position of the base before removing from the block." Do not turn the engine" Install the other Dist. with the base in exactly the same position and the rotor pointing exactly to # 1 cyclinder. Note. Failing to install the other dist.exactly the way you took the first one out will throw the timing out!!!!!
Be doing all of this be sure there is no spark.

SOURCE: 1996 Honda Accord Rough Idle Even After tune up

Perform a valve clearance inspection and adjust if necessary. Tight or sticking valves will cause a misfire or rough running concern. Note: Perform valve adjustment when the engine is stone cold. 4cyl: INT 0.26mm EXH: 0.30mm (V6 engine are hydraulic and no adjust necessary.) Also check for a sticking or stuck open EGR valve. For diagnostic purposes only: Remove the EGR valve. Place a business card over the EGR passage and bolt the EGR valve back on. This plugs the EGR ports and if the misfire goes away the EGR valve is partially stuck open and is defective.
Check for low fuel pressure. Check for low compression. Check cam timing. Check for a weak ignition coil. Also don't over look the possibility of worn or broken engine mounts which cause excessive engine movement and engine vibration. -hope this helps

Right when car warms up it has a lower slightly rough idle with a miss every once and awhile. When I drive it, unless I push the gas to the floor, it runs with a miss and shakes the car a bit. Sounds like...

Could very well be the main relay, limiting power to all the electronics in your car, causing the problems you've mentioned. Have it repaired or replaced.

My 92 Honda seems to sputter at low rpm. Like when you first take off from a dead stop. I had the oil around spark plug problem like the others posted on here. I changed the gaskets, but it is still...

Did you change what's call the "tube seals". It should have came with your valve cover gasket kit. 4 rings that push into the valve cover... If you did this and you still have oil, maybe your plug wires are still wet inside. Is the fuel filter very old?

No, Just change your Valve Cover....sometimes the seal leak that is around the spark plug tube.. When you get the valve cover, make sure it comes with the four seals that goes over that area, because some kits, do not come with them

My 1996 honda accord hestites when I give it gas at the lights, I removed the spark plug wire and noticed oil on the end of my wires, as well as a crack, would this be the reason for the rough drive?

The oil at the spark plug end of your wire is caused by O ring gasket seals that can be bought in a kit for about 20 bucks-valve cover gasket replacement kit. When you remove the valve cover, you will see one for each spark plug hole. They may be melted to the valve cover and need picked off with small screwdriver. After this remove spark plugs to get rid of residual oil. This may be shorting the spark to the engine instead of letting it go through the plug since electricity always looks for the path of least resistance(conductor).

Oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

Spark plug well filling with oil.

a new valve cover gasket and o-rings around the wells should have cured this...did you clean the old o-rings off the valve cover completely before installing new ones? this is a common problem with these models.....i would re-check my gaskets and mateing surfaces. valve cover gaskets and spark plug well o-rings are relatively low cost. the spark plug is tight, correct? write back with an update!
