ECU reset Recently changed a lambda sensor but need to reset the ECU for the problem to go, how do I go about doing this? Car is a Fiat Punto 05 reg.

If u mean bypass as in putting a new wire in, I'd be in plugging the Ecu connector and lambda sensor then running a simple test to make sure u got the right wire , a four wire lambda is 2 heater wires usually the same colour which when on is positive 1 5v Ecu feed and a earth

The two slots are for the oxygen sensors. You need to buy a catalytic convertor that is similar to the original part that you are replacing to avoid improper functioning of the system. So it is suggested not to use it.

P0480 is cooling fan problem, the other 2 relate to the Lambda sensor

the reg is is 57 ?? very interesting watson the mind boggles here as to weither this site is being used to send secret codes across the world ?for extremists or similar ,so is uncle reg now 57 which signifies something to do with a route 57 london bus or a new york subway train number 57 about to be targeted ,the mind boggles here and contemplates what is going to happen .

you will need to change the transponder reader too thats under the dash in a awkard in accesable position which will involve removing the dash ,best advice i can offer is to call a local auto locksmith who can re-programme the the wjhole lot for you on this older vehicle

its not the ecm! then so it has to be one of the sensors you need to get the fault codes out of the new ecm using a code reader but clear all codes first from the new ecu then drive it and when the fault does it again recheck the fault codes that then gives you a clue

I cant tell you why but I do have a solution for you to try, I had a similar fault on a fiat punto last year, I disconnected the battery for an hour and then put it back and the car started, Im still puzzled by this but It may work for you, worth ago, make sure you have your radio code before removing the battery

your engine turns clockwise and sounds like your timing is out.

there is no reset for an ecu

its located on the front pipe exhaust,,think theres 2 of them make sure you replace the correct one,,,no 1 is on the cat converter (exhaust front)the second is lower down,,its a size 22 with wires and a conector coming out if it ,,,thats how you no,,,,
