Usually the ABS can be bypassed if you press the brake twice. The first time it activates ABS, then it bypasses it when you let off and brake a second time. Do this all the time in my 2004 when off road as I want to slide down hills with breaks locked.

2000 impala L's abs and traction light on indicate code C1214. Solenoid valve relay coil or contact open. Please help me with solution.

DTC C1214 Solenoid Valve Relay Contact or Coil Circuit Open

Circuit Description
The electronic brake control relay supplies voltage to the solenoid valves and pump motor when energized. This voltage is refereed to as the system voltage. The electronic brake control relay, located in the EBCM, is activated whenever the ignition switch is in the RUN position and no faults are present. The electronic brake control relay remains energized until the ignition switch is turned off or when ABS is disabled.

Conditions for Setting the DTC
ā€¢ The system voltage is less than 8 volts.
ā€¢ The above conditions are present for greater than 0.23 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
If equipped, the following actions occur:
ā€¢ The EBCM disables the ABS/TCS for the duration of the ignition cycle.
ā€¢ The ABS indicator turns ON.
ā€¢ The Traction Off indicator turns ON.
ā€¢ The message center displays the Service Traction System message.

This step determines whether the DTC is current.

CodeC0550 on 2009 chevy hhr what does it mean? Light Service Traction And Serice ECS ??

DTC C0550 00: EEPROM Checksum Mismatch . Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.
Circuit/System Description
When the ignition is turned ON, the microprocessor runs a diagnostic program to detect an internal fault when power up is commanded. If an internal malfunction is detected, the control module will store a DTC C0550 in its memory.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
If equipped, the following module specific actions may occur:
ā€¢ The antilock brake system (ABS) indicator turns ON.
ā€¢ The BRAKE warning indicator turns ON.
ā€¢ The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the ABS/dynamic rear proportion (DRP)/traction control system (TCS).
ā€¢ The driver information center (DIC) displays the power steering warning message No Steering Assist.
ā€¢ The TCS indicator turns ON.

On a Daihatsu Terios 1500 - does the speedo work from the ABS or has it got a speedo drive and if so, where is it located?

speedo works from the output shaft of the transmission not from the abs
the abs only comes into action when the brakes are applied and a wheel/els loose traction and stop turning
the abs release the pressure to that wheel brake so that it can turn again

What is the ABS system?

the ABS is anti brake skid which is designed to stop wheel lock up under brakes and allow steering control at all times
it was originally designed for aircraft to stop the under carriage from being ripped from the plane when the wheels (under brakes on landing ) hit a wet patch , snow or ice on the runway
it works by each wheel having a segmented sender that is read by a sensor and this impulse switches on valves in the electric pump in the hydraulic system so that when the wheel stops turning ,brake pressure to that wheel is released momentarily and then reapplied when the wheel turns again
the person using the brake still feels the same brake pressure under the foot and in extreme situations will feel the brake pedal pulsate
Now the ECM continually monitors the ABS system and when fluid sensors, or electronic sensors fall outside set parameters , the ABS light comes on to let you know that there is a problem with the brakes
you should now be having the fault codes read to find the reason for the light and have it repaired as in some systems ,if the repairs are not effected then the vehicle is put into limp mode by the ECM and that reduces the power available and the speed of the vehicle.

A plane is 48 miles west and 49 miles north of an airport. The pilot wants to fly directly to the airport. What bearing should the pilot take? Answer should be given in degrees and minutes.

Draw the airport. (X marks the spot) Draw the distances from the airport (to scale) to indicate the position of the Plane. Use a protractor to work out the correct angle.

To Calculate:

a=48 b=49 Angle= Tan-1(a/b)

Advance tracking system turning off and abs light is on

You need to get the brakes checked. The brakes ABS warning is a fairly accurate system and it probably is made to shut off the tracking system because without brakes, the tracking system can not work properly.
The tracking system and ABS work by counting the revolutions to the wheels and balance left and right sides by using the brakes. If brake debris or bad brake pads interfere with the counting, the warning will engage.
You may be able to save the rotors with prompt action, but know that the brakes are not within specifications and are headed for a metal to metal conflict.

I have a 2001 chevrolet silverado with the following codes C0265,CO241 C0245 C0246 CO251. ABS & BRAKE LIGHT COME ON AND OFF Thanks Joey

looks like you need an ebcm. You can check the ground under the drivers side door attached to the frame, make sure it is clean and tight.

DTC C0241-C0254 or C041-C054
Circuit DescriptionThe ABS relay supplies battery voltage to 6 valve solenoids. The electronic brake control module (EBCM) microprocessor applies the grounds needed to activate each solenoid. The low side of each solenoid coil has a feedback circuit to the EBCM microprocessor. When a solenoid is commanded OFF, the feedback voltage is high. When a solenoid is commanded ON, the feedback voltage is low.
Conditions for Running the DTC • The ignition is ON. • The vehicle speed is greater than 6 km/h (4 mph). Conditions for Setting the DTCThe EBCM detects an internal malfunction.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets C0241, C0242, C0245, C0246, C0251, C0252, C0253, C0254If equipped, the following actions occur:
• The EBCM disables the DRP/ABS. • The ABS indicator turns ON. • The red brake warning indicator turns ON. C0243, C0244, C0247, C0248If equipped, the following actions occur:
• The EBCM disables the ABS. • The ABS indicator turns ON. Conditions for Clearing the DTCThe conditions for setting the DTC are no longer present and you use the scan tool Clear DTCs function.
Diagnostic AidsAn intermittent open/shorted solenoid DTC can be set by several different internal EBCM problems. Replace the EBCM if an open/shorted solenoid DTC continues to set intermittently.

Brakes work better when the ABS is disabled. Where is the fuse located for the ABS system so I can premently turn it off.

You think they work better, when the ABS is disabled the brakes go into safe mode bypassing the antilock brakes and the brakes will act just like the old style brakes, so when you lock them up you can't turn the steering wheel and you will skid instead of a quick slow down, I do not recommend removing the fuse for your ABS brakes. For instance if you hit Ice and hit the brakes you will hydroplane and spin out of control the same if you hit water. So if they are not working correctly they need to be fixed. I can go 60 miles an hour and slam on the brakes with ABS and have two wheels in the dirt and two on the pavement and I will stop going straight, when you do that with the standard brakes you will slide sideways and flip your rig. IF the brakes are not functioning right it will feel bad, if it feelsspongy you need to bleed the system you will need to replace the shoes the pads and turn the rotors and drums to make it work correctly, you take your life into your own hands an anyone that is driving towards you. I hope you reconsider.
