Fusible link usually powers a section of vehicle, or a portion of fuseblock. Check your connections at starter. There should be the large batt. cable, and a couple smaller wires bolted together. Also check tightness & condition at battery end. If there were any fusible links (section of wire that melts when overloaded) they would be down at starter...

Testimonial: "Im aware of what a fusible link is ,i just wantedto know it this vehicle has them. There is no power to the start relay so bypassing it activates the starter but still no power to the ignition. Yes I do have a volt meter and turned the ignition on to check voltage etc. Thanks anyway."

Why does my 1994 Nissan Pathfinders fuseable link keep blowing?

A fuseable link is a an "inline fuse" that works the same as a traditional fuse. When an excessive amount of current (amps) is detected, it opens to prevent fire or overheating of the wire.

It may be due to chafed insulation on the wire that when contacting body, frame or other grounded metal - causes a brief short circuit - and blows the link. Replacing it is the easy part - finding the cause can be labor intensive.

Good luck!

How do you hook up the ignition to the new sterring column 91 toyota pickup

Looking at terminal block on the vehicle with the connect tang to top wires are numbered from right to left 1 to 4 then bottom right to ldft 5 to 8Terminals 3 & are accessory on . 2,3&4 are ignition on and turn on 7&8. When you turn to start terminals 1,2,4,7,8connect. Terminal 4 is battery power thru fuseable link. Terminal 2 goes to Ignition gauge fuse and turn fuse. Terminal 1 goes to daytime rinning light relay. Terminal 3 goes to acc fuse or radio. Terminal 8 goes to another fuseable link to batt. terminal goes to starter motor. Hope that helps

Where is the fuse located for the alternator on a 97 chevy cavalier z24

Well, the main line from the alternator to the battery is protected by a fuseable link at the starter. Its a large wire that acts like a fuse.

The starter fuse is a 50 amp fuse in the engine fuse junction box, as for the ignition it is fused by a 20 amp fuse that gives power to the crank and cam sensor, restore the ignition in the proper way,the reason being you dont have spark.

Check and make sure you are getting power to the ignition switch and to the stator wire on the starter. Turn the key on and and measure the volts going to the starter on both wires. You should a atleast 12 volts going to the stator wire and to the main wire from the battery. If you are not getting power there it could be a fuseable link in the power wire from the ignition. I noticed that you replaced the ignition switch make sure the rod from the key switch has not come out of the switch.
