SOURCE: 1995 Buick Riviera SC: traction and the security light

traction switch is located next to drivers left knee on bottom of dash....you should be able to turn off the traction light there by just turning on the traction control.....the security light is telling you that there is a problem with your security system....could just need a new key with a new computer chip....make sure the key is clean and dry when using so it can read the chip....the security light comes on whenever your start the car and stays on for approximatley 2 minutes and then should go out....it is just a reminder....try this and see if it works....lock the door using the power switch on door.....close door and see if the security light comes on....watch and it should go out after about 2 minutes...if it does then your alarm is activated and working....to disarm you need to unlock the driver door with the key...anything else will set the alarm off and the lights will start flashing and the horn honking...after you set the alarm off you will always have to use the key to unlock the drivers door to turn off the alarm and reset the security system.

SOURCE: 1998 Buick Riviera battery

Make sure that you have the ventilation tubing when replacing the battery. The car is designed to vent battery gases from beneath the car. Substituting a different type battery (without vent ports, a small hole that is located at each end of the battery ) or if you decide to use the battery without the ventilation tubing, you run the risk of an explosion. This is due to the proximity of the battery to the fuel pump, which is also located beneath the seat.Underhood batteries vent naturally into the air within the engine compartment. In your car there is a small hole in front of your battery that leads to the underside of your car.Your tubing is designed to carry the battery's vapors way and direct it out of your car through this hole.

I have a 1995 Buick Riviera. It goes really slow at first & rpms go up. Then it will start driving like it should. Only happens when I take off from a stop. Fluid level good

The transmission may not be dropping in low gear. Manually shift the transmission into low when you come to a stop then shift to second and then 3. See it that works. Could have control valve problems.

Do I have to disconnect the battery to replace electronic brake control module on a 1995 Buick Riviera

It's best to disconnect the battery when replacing any type of component, if it gets a power surge from the battery and burns up the module, most likely it can't be taken back for return. Save yourself the headache and disconnect the battery.

My 1995 buick riviera won't start. It won't turn over. You can't hear a click when you turn the key.

it sounds like the starter motor relay could be bad. You also can be looking at a dead battery. Try jumpstarting the vehicle.

It's possibly a transmission line that is leaking. Better get it checked out.
