Look undre the passenger side dash and you will see a black box. Look closely and you will see screws in it around the edges. remove all the screws then remove the cover, there is the heater core, held in by 1 screw that is kinda hard to see. next look under the hood on the passenger side firewall right in front of the dash, you will see 2 hoses with clamps on them. loosen the clamps and remove the hoses. you may want to drain the radiator first but I never do

Check your thermostat first, could be staying open, not letting your coolant to heat up.If not that then the heater core could be bad. Here's how to check and remove,Here's how to replace heater core.
heater core is most likely the prob. its a long process to replace but can be done. replaced mine in my 99 ram 2500. remove steering column and entire dash to reveal heater core, passenger side floor area.
check your heater core Chevy is bad for that if water pump goes out heater core will to hoses go from motor threw fire wall leak will be coming out of fire wall between hoses
Hi, First thing lets drain coolant out of radiator.
Next take heater hoses off heater core inlet and outlets.
Then go to passenger side of truck under dash take the 5.5mm screws out of plastic peace coming down by the hump that looks flat. There is screws on back side of cover to, kinda hard to get to but you can. Remove cover then you will be able to get to heater core there is one screw with a bracket that holds heater core in place remove it then remove heater core. Put back in same order. Thanks if i can help just re post.
The heater hose connects to the heater core through the fire wall, under the hood, remove heater hose clamp at fire wall under the hood, remove clamp at other end, install new heater hose, no you don't have to do any thing under the dash.
As with all vehicles it seems the first part that they build around is the heater core. It is under the dash above the floor housed in a black plastic sealed box. Sealed with goop. Locate that box and start removing everything around it that is peventing taking the cover off. Of course disconnect the heater hoses under the hood a thefirewall.
Remove the heater hose clamps and the hoses from the engine side of the firewall. From the inside under the dash on the pass. side, remove the lower panel screws and slowly pry the lower cover down and the heater core will slide out of the heater box. Installation is reverse of removal.
nope pretty simple take off the heater hose clamps and the hoses from the engine side of the
firewall. Under the dash on the pass. side, remove the
lower panel screws pull cover down and the heater
core should come out of heater box. reverse to reinstall
