01 chevy monte carlo cruise contol light on dash is on as if cruise is set. Will not set and light will not go off if on/ off switch is pushed. Somtimes information center will not come on when problem with cruise is happening. To get it to work if I turn the heater fan switch on Cruise light goes out info center comes on and cruise starts to work.

Ur coolant level sensor might need changing. If not, the circuit associated with the coolant level sensor needs to be inspected
SOURCE: monte carlo 01 runs hot, says low coolant but its full
Thermostat is probably stuck closed... Run the car with the cap of the bottle or radiator and see if it starts to circulate when it gets hot... Be careful though because it can over heat and have no coolant flowing.. And also watch for spewing fluid if it get hot at the place you took the cap off.... The low coolant could also mean the radiator is not full but the bottle is... Check for a restriction from the bottle to the radiator.. If you see a sensor on the bottle it could be bad... But That won't cause it to over heat. It'll just say low coolant because the switch is stuck.
Also does the fan come on while it's getting hot?
If not that could be the reason for the overheating.. And the coolant level sensor could be bad telling you it's low
Cap off look for circulation of antifreeze.
At the same time before it over heats make sure fan is coming on. No fan on? Fan fuse or relay could be bad... Also maybe a wire.
No circulation? Thermostate stuck or restriction in coolant hose...Line... Radiator..... And worse case scenario the water pump might be bad.
The low level I wouldn't worry about. Find out why it's over heating first.

Just because you cant feel in doesn't mean it isn't slipping. The computer monitors input rotation speed and output rotation speed of the transmission. If the output isn't within a certain range the computer stores this code. The only reason for this is transmission slipping and will require a rebuild.
SOURCE: Have a 2003 Monte Carlo SS. Usually happens when I
most of the newer cars especially the new chevys are all ran off the bcm or body control module, i would have someone with a snap-on brand tester check to bcm and the parts of your car first to make sure what is all wrong, could just be a shorted wire or a broken vacuum hose
SOURCE: how much does it cost to fix cruise control on a
this depends on whats wrong with the cruise control if its just a fuse then it will be relatively cheap if its the servo itll be a little more expensive but not extremely outrageous should be around $100 or less give a take a few dollars.
