Thank you for your intrest for my question; however I've found the answer to my question on another website. There is a valet button inside the glovebox that had been pushed and all i had to do was push it again. Now it works!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

I really doubt this is a fuse problem, more likely the door actuator is defective.I really doubt this is a fuse problem, more likely the door actuator is defective.

Re: I don't know which fuse is for my trunk/fuel release...
With a 12 volt test light check fuse ( #22 not entirely sure, or in the 20's ) 20A fuse blown. controls both trunk release and fuel door. Hope this helps.

If the actuator mechanism is functioning (you hear the click) the next step is to see if the cable is connected to the latch. Open your trunk and press the button - watch what happens. You may have to manually 'lock' the trunk with the trunk lid open to observe the action. You can always unlock this latch with your key if necessary.
Here is how I done it with my 2002 Sebring LimitedIf the car has a release button on dashboard but you don't have keys to turn on ignition, (they locked in trunk) remove fuse cover (end of dash drivers side) remove fuse marked for dash lights and PRND1234 leave for 2 or 3 min then while holding trunk release button re-insert fuse and trunk release should work
I had the same problem last fall and had my mechanic check all fuses, he could not find the problem. Later my son was in the glove box and then I remembered the valet button disables the trunk and gas door so the person parking your car cannot snoop in your trunk or get to your gas cap. push the valet button in the glove box and see if you can release the trunk and gas door. Hope this works for you, it can be a pain opening the trunk every time you want to put gas in the car....good luck...........
I purchased a Chiltons through www.eautorepair.net and looked up the Relay for the trunk release button on the dash. I found the location under the fuse panel under the drivers side and found the relay was not pluged in. I conected the relay and to my dismay the button worked.
