I have a 1997 pontiac rand am gt and i recently was in an accident and i wanted to know if it has one of those safety reset switches for the fuel system and where it would be located
Hello mwisterman11: I can help with your answer. GM does not use a inertia switch like Ford does. The fuel pump is controlled by a 20 amp fuel pump fuse, a fuel pump relay and the PCM. Look under the hood for the fuse box. Locate the fuse marked f/p-injr.This will be a yellow 20 amp.fuse. If it is ok locate the fuel pump relay in the same panel. Other then these two the fuel pump is controlled by the computer. If you crack a fuel line and turn the key on you should see fuel movement. Be sure to put a rag around the line to soak up the fuel. This will be a fire hazard.
