The truck over heated 2 times while driving and Both times I let it cool down then filled radiator up with engine running. Couldn't find any leaks or signs of coolant in oil. Let truck idle for 30 mins or so and it was fine. 10 mins on the highway and it started getting hot I had the heater on to help cool it down. just before the engine died the heater started blowing cool air. Engine cranks fine, but won't start. Pull started it and it ran, but has lost power. Thermostat may be sticking causing it to overheat? Blown Headgasket? How can I check it at home?
Original issue sounded like thermostat but now that you have lost power i would have to say thermostat, blown head gasket, and warped head
to check thermostat find and remove place in pot of boiling water the see if it opens, then to ice water to check if closes.
the only way i know to check headgasket and head is to check oil and water. oil will have water in it, and water iw have oil in it
