I own a 2000 Volvo S40 T4 Automatic and need to do a service on my vehicle as it's already due for one, and need to know whether there's a special tool to use for removing the oil filter?

If you already fix your problem, take your vehicle to an AutoZone for diagnostic and when done, ask to have MIL reset. This is a free service for all customers.
Hi:
Most auto parts stores can sell you the proper belt for your car, if you tell them the model, year and what accessories the car has, such as power steering and air conditoning. Your car has a belt tensioner that must be loosened to remove or replace the belt!
Click on the following free direct Link. It has the Timing: Belt and Mark Diagrams for your 2001 Volvo S40. Plus additional Instructional and Directional Diagrams.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!
You need to get it looked at, get a vehicle diagnostic check done, you can buy the fault code reader off ebay for about £30 then its yours for future cars. Could be one of the o2 sensors failed which is making your car run lumpy which was the problem with my T4.
No that is just your rev counter sensor and want make any difference to the running of the car.Check to see if you are gettingspark to the plugs.Allso check your getting fuel from the pump.
check both the cam sensors and the crank sensor, let me know how you make out,if you need more help get back to me and we'll do some other tests, please rate my fix as i strive to be the best
Without seeing your vehicle I can't say for sure where the oil is leaking from. turbo return line seals are prone to leakage. the seals themselves should be about $20
