P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2

The ECM or PCM monitors the switching frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2.

A three way catalyst converter(Manifold) with high oxygen storage capacity will indicate a low switching frequency of heated oxygen sensor 2. As oxygen storage capacity decreases, the heated oxygen sensor 2 switching frequency will increase.

When the frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2 approaches a specified limit value, the three way catalyst (Manifold) malfunction is diagnosed.

Possible Causes:
- Three way catalyst converter Bank 2
- Exhaust tube
- Intake air leaks
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Fuel injector leaks
- Spark plugs may be faulty
- Improper ignition timing
- Engine Control Module

Possible Solutions:
The most common cause it the three way catalyst converter Bank 1.

If the P0430 is combined with other DTC's try fixing those first and this code may clear.

SOURCE: I have a code computer and the troubled code is

ahh yes. you got a tricky one. this code is very misleading because the definition of p1320 is the ignition signal primary which alot of owners have popping up after changing a starter or something of the liking.
the fix is replacing your ignition coils. this is a common problem on the 2000-2001 maximas. this i know from experience of being nissan tech and ex-maxima owner. if you are handy you can order the coils for about $325 dollars and change the coils yourself and you will save hundreds of dollars as the dealerships will charge $600-$750 dollars. this should clear up any any hesitation and misfiring(shaking). please rate 4 thumbs up if helpful.

Definition of Diagnostic Trouble Code P0430 Category: Powertrain Definition: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2Note: This definition of P0430 is applied to all manufacturers

As the code description implies the P0430 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is expecting). Replacing the oxygen (O2) sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic convert needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the P0430 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first.

I'm getting trouble code p01320 on 2000 nissan

p1320 is a ignition primary signal code. you may need ignition coils. not a common issue on a 2000 sentra, but depending on milage you may need coils. unfortunatelly you dont have a specific cylinder number code stored such as p0301 which is number 1 cylinder misfire and so on in your case p0301 to p0304 because its a 4 cylinder vehicle. with the p1320 its usually the whole set of 4 coils.

DTC P0420 or P0430

Diagnostic Instructions

* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure. See: Testing and Inspection\Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview\Diagnostic Starting Point - Vehicle
* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

DTC Descriptors

DTC P0420

* Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 1

Important: A new converter with less than 100 miles on it may set DTC P0420 or P0430 due to out-******* of the internal matting. Operating the vehicle at highway speeds for approximately 1 hour may correct the condition. Hope this helps

P1320 trouble code plus

The P1320 code is essentially a coil primary voltage problem. This is traceable using a labscope or accurate DVOM and perhaps you can isolate one or two coils that still work but are close to failure...but there is a nissan service message recommending replacement of ALL coils with updated/improved models to prevent this type of failure. TCS/SLIP is traction control. Most likely you have a speed sensor issue. Be aware, some vehicles can falsely illuminate TCS because of low tire pressure in a single wheel.
