my etc light came on and i took to the lincoln dealer it was my fuel system and it had to be replaced for the tune of 800 dollars. after that it ran fine for about a month then i hit a hump then it went into etc mode again. i then took it back to lincoln they did not see a code or that it even went into etc mode because i cut the car off and turned it back on it ran fine but once you cut it off it resets itself it did this about 10 more times and never came back on again knock on woods no problems but it started missing and the check engine light came on it was a misfire in cylinder 4 and it replaced the spark plug myself and it has ran find ever since. I was told anytime the etc light comes on it due to fuel or transmission

These cars are famous for leaky seals where the valve cover interfaces with the cylinder head, at the spark plug journals. They fill with oil, short the coils and cause a misfire. Driving it any significant distance can destroy your catalytic converters ad unburnt fuel ignites therein, creating inferno-like conditions and a fire hazard too. You'll get a "300 code", such as 301 if cylinder 1 is misfiring, 302 for # 2, etc. Pull the coil off the spark plug for that cylinder and if it is moist at all, that's your issue. Have new seals put in, or you'll just keep blowing coils at $50 a whack.

The on-board computer is giving you a trouble code for the center belt tensioner in the rear seat. This chould not be a safety issue if the belt is functioning. You may be able to clear the code if you pull the center belt out completely a couple of times as the code may be setting for reasons where a little excercise of the belt mechanism may remedy.
