92 Chevy Suburban Electrical Fuel System

We just replaced the fuel pump on our suburban after it died while driving down the road. It cranks but won't turn over, checked the throttle body, no gas pumping in. Replaced the relay, still no luck. We are getting power to the relay, but nothing to the fuel pump itself. Bad relay switch? I have a 05 suburban that has 75 k miles on it. It started in 09 dec. driving it would spudder and then die. sometimes it starts right up. other times it takes a few crank overs. I changed the fuel filter and plug / wires. This happen out of no-where. I also don't have the speed pick-up. I hit the throttle and it bogs down and either slows down or stalls in slow motion. Last time the low fuel light came on when it stalled driving down the road. Also the car will not start with under a 1/4 tank. i have filled it and there fuel in it measuring the amount of fuel I put in. HELP

Check fuel flter at fuel pick-up intank (looks like a small wire sock). Remove fuel filter and fitting at fuel rail. Blow out fuel lines w/about 35lbs air press. Ck electrical @ relay - should be 4 connectors - one is key on hot/one is always hot/one is ground and last is hot to fuel pump. Good Luck

(is main battery holding charge from alternator?
Is alternator producing charge for battery?)

Do you have spark to the plugs and normal fuel pressure ?

Engine dies

if it shuts off while driving down the road. and restarts after 10 minutes, its usually a bad crank sensor that does this. it messes up timing and shuts off fuel supply.

93 Chevy suburban 1500 would die when put into drive now it won't start at all. Replaced fuel filter and distributer cap and rotar. Still no luck. Any ideas?

You could have a bad fuel pump have somebody to crank the engine and check bleader valve in the engine see if fuel comes out of it.

We have a 2002 Chevy Suburban and it cuts out while driving down the road, about 20-30 mins after starting the vehicle. We've cleaned the fuel filter. As soon as we crank it up it'll run for 20 mins than...

there is code that does not turn on the service engine soon. have code retrieve. And when the problems occured have fuel pressure check. You have to find out if the problem is electrical or fuel and air .Another way to find it is move engine harness while engine running if it stall could be short to ground or wire cut open

My suburban quit running while driving down the road. Seems like not getting fuel. Changed fuel filter. Still no go. How can I determine if it is a pump.

Ah, the famous Chevy fuel pump death in the fuel tank. This is a HAZARDOUS job. Unless you are a sharp mechanic (I assume you're not or you wouldn't be asking about the fuel pump test) I'd take it to the dealer. Sorry.

is it getting spark? spray a little starting or carberator fluid in the carb and try to start if it starts then it's a fuel problem if not then it's a spark problem.if it's a fuel then check the fuel filter

NOT GETTING ANY GAS TO ENGINE

It's either the fuel pump or your engine control unit. Try hot wiring the pump and see if it works. If it does you need a new brain.

92 Chevy Suburban Electrical Fuel System

I assume the fuel pump fuse is good?
The only time voltage will be sent to the fuel pump will be the first 2 to 3 seconds if the starter is not engaged. You will want to crank the engine over and check for voltage on the load side of the relay, circuit #30 at the relay.
Let me know after you check.
