I have a 99 windstar Mini Van and she shut down on me while i was driving and refused to turn back on. I towed her home and tried to turn her on but when i did she turns on but does not stay on she shuts down. She has plenty of gas in tank so i dont think its a gas issue but need to know what the problem is. Please Help. Thank.
SOURCE: vam stalling
there are too many reasons...
it could be fuel pump,, it could be ignition coil overheating, it could be the computer itself...
you need two things for the engine to run,
1 is gas
2nd is ignition,,
with these two misfiring or your loosing one of them, it will stall...
i hope i was able to give you some thoughts....

SOURCE: need to replace number 1 sensor
Hi, it is very easy to change but have go repair shop, first when u get sensor, they have to heat the sensor with gas light that use in welding, the neck right from where it tied the manifold and put small engine oil, then start losing it, and dont forget to remove the battery terminal when doing the work, when it lose then disconect the wire that is connected to the point where it is connected and fix the new one by tieting it firmly to the position and fix back the wire and battery head and start the car u will see that the check engine light is gone

Honestly you should send it into the dealer. I don't think guessing will help you. Typically it is a dirty connection into the steering column (behind the ignition key) But diagnostics need to be run and a look at the VSS system (through a good scan tool) is needed to confirm.
SOURCE: My 2000 Ford Windstar is having some electrical
Check your alternator. My van did something similar. I was driving down the road and all of the sudden my windows, a/c, radio, door locks, speedometer, everything electrical went down. We stopped and tried to crank it and it wouldn't. Then finally it cranked up went another mile before the fuel pump quit working too. It was the alternator. I had to have someone come jump me off and follow me to the parts store and then home for it to be fixed.
