Classic symptom of main relay - won't start when it's hot outside. The main relay under the dash needs its joints resoldered or just replace it. Good luck!

If it's the S model, it *should* as it has a F22 motor in it.. the Si and SE has a H23 motor, and the VTEC has a H22 motor. I have heard of people using the F22 transmission on a Prelude motor for longer gearing at highway speeds (per Honda-Tech.com), but I haven't tried the combination myself
could be the coil in the distributor test for spark ( pull a plug ground it while someone trys to start the car. it should spark, if it doesnt replace coil.with known good.
Most likely an air fault, check the airflow meter and air flow sensor, if it is not getting air then it will not start, keep pumping the gas if you can smell it after a while then its getting plenty of fuel.
Make sure you check timing and the belt. if it spun don't risk putting it back on. Hope you got a new key. TIMING is important so you don't stick a valve through the top of your piston
need to check the back side of the ac connector where the harness plugs in remove the heater control unit assy and u will see the ac button connector with it still pluged in start the car and turn the ac button on wiggle the ac connector if the light comes on and off it's a loose connection in the harness/connector at the ac button try to jamb a folded over zip tie about 4inches long in between the ac button connector and the plastic frame basicly just make sure that the connector staitionary not wiggling around I had the same problem on my 95 prelude vtec push the ac button sometimes comes on or hitting the dash just got old hope this helps
Try replacing Oxygen sensor (top of exhaust pipe just rear of engine; 22mm ring-spanner job after cutting wires); though normally comes up with Code 1 on the MIL, this is the right bunch of symptoms.
