Buy a two pack of the low beam bulbs and change both had lights. the voltage drop will burn one out since they have different resistance.

SOURCE: Low Beam Headlight

This is a bulb and is very easy to replace. You might want to buy a pair since other side will go out soon also. Simply twist connector behind light system, pull and replace bulb. good luck

SOURCE: burned out headlight/bulb bmw 1991 325i 2dr

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.

replace bulbs newer models are double contacted, normally if a lot of vibration and knocking around occurs this could short out and have it blown, also you may want to chek for slack connection on the contacts for the bulbs, again a problem due to vibration

Most total headlight failures are caused by a bad component like a fuse, relay, or module. Wiring problems can also cause both headlights to stop working. High beam headlights don't work or low beams don't work. If just one bulb fails to work in either high beam mode or low beam mode, it may be the bulb. Check your manual to find your headlamp relay.

Headlamps not working.

is the light setup one ballast for high and low beam ? if so the ballast has gone, probably even the bulbs. replace the ballast and bulbs. some aftermarket ballasts don't last, if you cannot find the right ballast for replacement you will need to replace both ballasts. as every ballast set are set the same and sold in pairs.

Right side headlights not working

You need to first establish that you have current to the headlight in question. With it being so flaky in how it is working I would bet that your connector is bad at the light. Grab a meter and see if you are getting your 12 volts to the connection. Cleaning it out may help you for a while.

Cadillac cts ballast

If the bulb has a black plastic base it is a halogen bulb and has no ballast. If it has a metal base it is an HID bulb and the ballast is inside the metal base. The HID bulb looks like this:

Headlight problems

n I've noticed that not all bulbs are the same and they have voltage drops causing one to burn out sooner. Replace both at the same time and if you can find a two pack that would be better.

Lt. headlight low beam wont work after replacing the bulb.

I assume it didn't work before you changed the bulb either. You'll have to check for voltage at the bulb socket when the low beam headlights are turned on. If there is none you'll have to trace the wire back to where it splits from the right low beam headlight. If there is voltage there you have a problem with the new bulb.
