I have a 95 Mercury Villager that will not start. I have removed the after market anti-theft system and replaced the neutral safety switch. I pulled the starter and had it checked with the solenoid. All lights come on when the key is turned but there appears to be no power getting to the solenoid.
Check/replace the starter relay switch in the relay box under the hood. The relay box is located on the front right of the engine compartment. easy fix, inexpensive part if that is the problem.
Does the key have a chip on it? if so, disableling the unit will set off the system. It is called a pass key decorder in a pontiac. do not know about the system on the mercury;s
