Remove broken antenna

Most electric Antennas require two people to replace. First turn key on watch and listen to antenna motor as some one turns on radio do this several times. Now remove spanner nut the antenna mast goes through then have them turn radio on again this you assist the rest of the mast out of motor assembly watching what side the teeth are on the plastic cable . Now take new mast and fully extent it and lubricate with a machine oil 3 in 1 works great. slowly lower into housing trying to get first tooth hooked or close then turn radio off this will retract the antenna into the assembly hopefully on the first try it should be all the way in. don't worry re install retainer parts raise and lower several times the overrun clutching will get it in time.

2000 ford forte antenna removal

Owner's manuals do not show how to repair your car.
Even some factory service manuals ( costing $ 25 - $ 100+) do not list all the steps and tools and procedures to fix this.
Most antenna's are fastened inside the fender or roof panel or wherever you see them.
It can take a lot of work to change one.
Sometimes it takes a garage or body shop a few hours of labor to do this, depending on what must be removed to access the holding device.
Be blessed.

How to replace antanna on 1999 mitsubishi eclipsedo you have to trim the toothed cable also how to get the broken off piece out

No need to trim the cable. You'll have to remove the antenna assembly from the car to remove the broken piece. It's pretty straight forward once you get the plastic covers off the inside of the car. Take the whole unit out and take it apart. Once you have the broken pieces out, put the unit back together and plug it in. Have a buddy turn the radio on (which will run the motor to raise the antenna. Once it stops, feed the cable down the hole till it stops. Have your buddy turn the radio off (which will retract the antenna) and push the cable to help engage it in the gear below. It should catch a pull the rest in on its own.

I'm trying to change the rear brakes on my 1999 Chevrolet Silvarado 1500. How do I get the parking break loosened

Lossen the equalizer nut (looks like a Y with a metal bracket in it) and detach the rear cable or cables from equalizer. Detach the cable casing from the bracket by pressing the tangs of the retainer and passing the cable through the bracket. follow the cable and remove any mounting bracket bolts or clips that may be securing the cable.

For disc brakes, you want to detach the cable from the lever on the parking brake actuator.

For drum, you want to remove the shoes and disconnect the parking brake cable form the lever. Press the tangs on the cable casing retainer and detach the cable casing from the bracket on the backing plate which may require use of needle nose pliers. Then simply remove the cable.
