Your breaks hardware do for inspection this is a safety device built in car to lower speeds when breaks are bout to fail dont drive vehicle in condition till you have the break system checked out

There is a problem with the gearbox or clutch. The gearbox will have to be removed and the clutch inspected, then it may need a new clutch or gearbox.

Sounds like sluggish movment inside the transmission. I would recommend a transmission flush and refill, depending on the severity of the amount of sludge you may have to repeat.

Is it not shifting into OD? It should shift from first to second, then second to third, and third into fourth which is od. I'm not quit sure which forward gear you are meaning.

1998 chevy blazer 4x4 just replaced trans ran fine for a few weeks and quit shifting the speedometer jumps up and down and the abs light came on.
i dont think the two things are related check your speedo cable inner cable could be frayed or kink on outer cable if not disconect cable from speedo end and lube it
