Can't locate fuse

I have a 2006 Chevy uplander and can't find the fuse for the rear wiper motor. Any ideas? I checked the owner's manual, and its not listed.

I looked at the diagram, and the rear wiper is not listed...there's a wiper 1 and a wiper 2 relay, but no fuse listed as "rear wiper"

  • shannonostra May 01, 2009

That's what I though too, so I am assuming that one of them has to be the rear...I just don't know which. Thanks Jerry!

I thought the front wipers were on one circuit ? not each one separate.. Jerry

It states in the owners manual to open the passenger door and remove the panel at the end of the dashboard to access the fuses,...I believe it's fuse #3 for the rear wiper motor. you may need a screwdriver to help gently pry the panel off...

The rear wiper fuse on the uplander is in the fuse panel inside the vehicle on the front passenger side. The rear wiper fuse is a 15 amp show as number 3 on the diagram in your owners manual. Chances are the fuse is not the problem but the wiper motor. GM admits there is a history of this motor failing. The motor will cost you 150-225 depending on where and who you buy it from plus about an hour labour. You can replace it yourself in about a half hour

Where is the rear wiper fuse for my 2009 chevrolet uplander

The rear wiper fuse on the uplander is in the fuse panel inside the vehicle on the front passenger side. The rear wiper fuse is a 15 amp show as number 3 on the diagram in 2006-2008 owners manual. I assume 2009 is the same. Chances are the fuse is not the problem but the wiper motor. GM admits there is a history of this motor failing. If you are good with tools you can replace it yourself in about a half hour.
Surprisingly ... on other makes/models some people have had success just rapping the motor to get it going again ... evidently has motor brush contact issues
Good luck on your troublrshooting

Front heater blower quit on my 2006 Chevy Uplander but the rear blower still works. Are these two blowers run off the same fuse located in the instrument panel fusebox? or under the hood? Suggestions?

No , they use different fuse's . FRT/BLWR fuse # 27 - 25 amp , RR BLWR fuse # 28 25 amp . both are located in the under hood fuse box . But the odds of this being a fuse problem are astronomical . Unless there is a electrical short circuit on that circuit . You may replace the fuse an it mite work , but for how long .? The blower motor may be going out an drawing to much current . Do you know anything about automotive electrical ? Amps , volts , resistance ? How to view a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in the blower motor electrical circuit , how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter to test electrical circuits etc .... ? Plus - do you know if it has a manual or automatic climate control system ? It doesn't work on any speed ?

Check your fuses first! The fuse box location should be listed in your owners manual.

I have a 2006 Chevy Uplander the rear wiper has stopped working, was making a grinding sound before it completely stopped, what are the possible solutions

sounds like the gear drive has stripped out the end of the wiper arm. if you can hear the motor run but arm does not move, remove wiper arm and check drive teeth. replace as needed

Rear wiper does not work.

Exactly. Not much else can go wrong. Located motor/pull and replace. Should be easy and inexpensive. No need to go to the dealer. Napa parts will be fine for this. Only other option I can think of is the switch...
