If you dont see a white plastic hex nut or black plastic butterfly nut, anywhere on the bottem side you will need to undo the lower radiator hose. Sorry, messy but true.

Most radiators use a plug now instead of the old petcock valve. The plug is on the very bottom of the radiator facing the ground. Most I have seen have a large phillips slot in them. You can loosen it just a turn or so till you get some flow, if you remove it all the way watch for washer/gasket and/or "O" rings you will have a leak if you lose something. good luck cb

2000 oldsmobile alero - I need to do a coolant flush but have never before so not sure what hoses to remove, do I run water through after drained and where to find the bleeder valve

Located on the very bottom of the radiator is a Large hose and the Drain Valve is there, open the valve, drain all the fluid, open the top of the radiator, hold a running water hose to fill the radiator, start the car find the balance of water flow, in the water hose and the drain. When the engine is warm about 3-5 minutes. It will then start cycling through the engine you may need to increase water hose flow now to keep the radiator full. Flush for 2-3 minutes or until crisp clear water is draining from the Drain valve. Turn off the car let all water drain completely. Then fill with Coolant. Water mix of 50%/50% coolants are suggested for summer time operation.

Can't find the radiator drain valve to flush the radiator

If you need to flush just the radiator you're going to need to pull the lower hose off of it. Hope I was able to help....

How to flush radiator

best way to flush radiator is to drain the coolant into a container first. Then you should buy a prestone flush kit from wal-mart. They are only like $3. Intall into your cooling lines, as per directed by instructions on package, hook up a water hose and run it through till clear. The instructions on the kit will guide you step by step. Hope this helps you out.

I have a 1995 buick century. i want to flush radiator, but i couldn't located the draining valve. i need a help, if you can locate the draining valve for radiator.

Hi, if there is not a petcock or plug at the bottom of the radiator, you can just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant. Many cars do not have drain plugs. Please let me know if you have more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

1.) the drain valve is a bolt type device under the radiator..

2.) different flush has different methods usually buy the flush and follow the instructions.. usually
empty radiator by loosening valve underneath
tighten back valve when drained
pour in flush and top up with water
start car and allow to run for 15 minutes (with cap off)
cut off

How do I flush the radiator in a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. Need all the steps.

Well you can purchase a Prestone Flushing Kit, that includes a T valve with a cap that you can remove to connect a garden hose to, that you would install in line in one of heater hoses. Install the T valve, connect a garden hose to the T valve, remove the radiator cap and turn on the garden hose, once you have clear water coming out the radiator, turn off the hose and disconnect it and install the T valve cap. Then on the other tank that doesn't have the radiator cap, at the bottom of that tank, is a petcock, unscrew it to drain the radiator. Drain the water out and close the drain and refill the radiator.

Flushing of radiator

usually there is a drain at the bottom of the radiator and all you do is open it with a pair of pliers..youll want to reove the radiator cap so it will drain faster

We have a 1991 ford 350 and it is overheating

Most likely it's a stuck / faulty thermostat.

The two brass fittings are for the automatic transmission fluid cooler.

Some models simply don't use a drain valve.
