Dakota 4.7 P0161 code? What does it mean

P0161 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
check the wiring to the bank 2 sensor, that is the one behind the catalytic converter on the opposite side from the bank where #1 cylinder is located, see firing order diagram below.

IT MEANS THAT THE O2 SENSOR HEATER HAS A MALFUNCTION ON CYLINDER BANK2 SENSOR2. AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SOMETIMES IT IS POSSIBLE TO REMOVE AN O2 SENSOR AND CLEAN IT SO THAT IT PRODUCES THE PROPER VOLTAGE. THEY ARE COSTLY BUT ARE AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE ENGINE. P0161 code is O2 heater circut Sensor 2 Bank 2. Look under vehicle for any O2 wiring that is damaged. If o/k remove O2 and clean. Reinstall, clear code and roadtest. If code comes back, replace O2. Sensor 2 is the O2 behind the CAT. Bank 2 is the side of the engine that does not contain No 1 cyl.
