1. Check if you are getting spark from the distributor cap, if no, go to #2.
2. Check if you are getting spark from the ignition coil, if no, go to #3. If yes, your distributor cap is worn out.
3. Check if you are getting voltage to the coil, if no, it could be the ignition control unit that is faulty. If yes, your ignition coil is faulty.

Can't find the fuel pump relay on my 1990 190E Mercedes. Every thing I see says it is in the engine compartment behind the battery. Not so on my 190E. Where else could the fuel pump relay be?

Relay should be behind fuses under a screwed down cover. My question to you is why would you think the relay is bad? Check voltage at the pump as someone turns the car to on. At this age it's most likely a dead or dying pump. Other things to consider are OVP relay (behind the battery) , coil dead, general tune up ie plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

How do you test fuel pump relay on 88 mercedes 190e

The fuel pump relay is behind the battery. remove it and bridge pin #30 (should be under power) and #87 (that goes to the fuel pump).
If the fuel pump kicks in you know the relay is bad

93 190e with 2.3 fuel pump noisy and when car runs a couple of minuits the pump quits and so does the car also is there more than one pump on this cat

Should have 2 fuel pumps but if the pumps are shutting off it sounds like the fuel pump relay. Go to benzworld.org for many solutions to MB issues.
