I recently upgraded the stock gears in my 02 Avalanche to the 456 gears. Instatly has caused problems with the Traction control kicking in and losing power to the truck till I mannualy shut on the traction control. Any Ideas on how to fix this permanantly?
In addition the break light on the dash board lights up after driving for about 5 minutes. I was told it is the ABS light sensing that the tires are spinning to fast. I purchased a Hyperteck computer programer to adjust for the gears and oversized tires but unfortunatly it has not fixed the warning light problems.
Any ideas???
Rubbish
the abs sensors stopped wheels not fast spinning wheels
when there is no signal from the rotor the abs kicks in and releases he brake pressure to that wheel/s allowing them to turn to give the driver steering control
as the abs and traction control use the same wheel sensor , the traction could detect a fast spinning wheel and take action to control it
you have upgraded the final drive ration to 4.56 from standard which will be 3 point something which will make the engine rev higher to get the same speed
and that could be where the problem is coming from as there is a connection between the engine rpms and the road speed and the preset parameters may be not reading the new settings from the new diff ratio
putting on the lights and dropping power

This light is usually caused by a problem in the ABS system. A problem in the ABS system will dissable the traction control system. you will need to have the computers scanned for trouble codes.

verify all tire pressures are correct this can affect abs traction control on your vehicle

THE PROBLEM IS WITH A HUB WHEEL SPEED SENSOR OR MORE LIKELY THE HARNESS LEADING TO THE HUB.
CHECK THE RESISTANCE AT THE HUB CONNECTION, IT SHOULD BE BETWEEN 900OHMS AND 1300OHMS. THEN SWITCH TO A-C VOLTAGE, IT SHOULD BE 100MV WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL BY HAND. IF BOTH CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM IS IN THE WIRING TO THE HUB.
THE RIGHT FRONT HUB USUALLY HAS A BEND, DOWNWARD THEN UPWARD NEAR THE CONNECTOR TO THE HUB. THAT IS WHERE THE PROBLEM USUALLY OCCURS.
NEW HARNESS WIRES CAN BE BOUGHT AT THE DEALER.

It is a fault with the ECM . It will have to be test with machine

We were having this problem...have your wheel bearing checked out. There was a sensor in the drivers side wheel bearing...once we replaced it (because it was going out) the ABS and Traction Control warning lights stopped coming on.

The truck is a 2 wheel drive with a 6" fabteck suspension lift and 35" tires.
IS IT A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE?IF SO DID U CHANGE THE FRONT GEARS?
