There is a problem with a radio of my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Namely, the radio does not produce the sound and when i am trying to increase a volume, text "MUTE" appears on the screen. Pushing the mute button does not solve the problem. It happend after I heard from the speakers voice of lector speaking something in Italian (I bought my Jeep Italy). I do not know Italian but i cought a few words like "telefonica" - which means something with phone and "interrumpi" - just interrupt. Do you know how to help with this problem?

It's in the engine compartment IOD#2. It's a black module with two fuses in it. Take that module off and replace the 20 AMP one.
SOURCE: Radio speakers seem to be muted. I pushed INFO button, did this cause something to mute ??
Some radios have phone buttons that mute the speakers so you can talk on the phone. If you have Onstar and no active subscription it can also mute the radio thinking you are trying to talk to Onstar.

YOU WILL HAVE TO TRACE THE WIRES OUT, DO U HAVE A SEPERATE AMPLFIER? MANY OF THESE VANS DO, IF SO THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

I have found the solution to this problem. I have replaced a total of 3 starter motors and has gone away for various periods of time. Further diagnosed when concern happened again starter
would work again after starter ignition feed wire wiggled. I found corrosion build up in connector at ignition feed wire. I replaced connector on wire to starter solenoid and concern has not returned.
