Hi just seen your message on the fore room. I have a 2002 bmw x5 4.4 and the transmision failed to, bmw wont sort it but they should by law, mine has 70,000 miles on but bmw said not enough people have complained. I have now gone to watch dog and to trade and standards. They just dont want to put it on recall as it will cost thousands, regards karl we need as many numbers to give to bmw so customer service can call, if we get enough then they will have to fix them all. Please email me [email protected]

SOURCE: BMW 318i serial number location

Try the trunk lid where the tools are kept. The tools that I'm talking about are on the actual trunk lid, or atleast they are on my 94 318i. There should be a copy of the VIN there.

SOURCE: BMW 318i Service Light

BMW SERVICE RESET Take a small wire, paperclip, or elect wire and bend like a horseshoe. No light or equipment necessary Open the diagnostic data port, the one were the little pacman centre is located. Turn the ignition to position 2, don?t start. Connect pin7 always first and then pin 19. Hold for 4 seconds. Remove wire and settings will be reset. Warning if you hold the wire longer than 10 seconds you may reset inspection intervals 1 and 2. I?ve done this twice and it definitely work on my E36

SOURCE: bmw 2001 4.4 x5 sensor

You will need to replace the oil level sensor. It is located on the bottom of the the foward oil pan. Do it during a oil change, you will have to remove the oil first. Here is a link to the part at Bimmer Specialist. Call and make sure it is the correct one before you buy. Good Luck.

2002 Suzuki XL7 - DRL headlights won't come on - not fuses

yes heat is always a cause, heat wrecks all things many makes faster (electric)
DRL love to fail is this up in canada, , it is not law USA to have it.
he law here ended 2010 on DRL junk.(proven not to work)
many cars have a DRL module and the pins on it look burnt
and is bad. ALL DRL on suzuki seen by me to 2000 did that
no sure 02
DRL has relays to fail or even hand brakes switch too.
the 2 rules on DLR are
hand brake must turn off and lamps on, no kind of brake failure allowed,
and
no GEN?/ALT/Batteyr lamp failure in cluster
this last bit of logic allows driving further DLR off, and dead alternator in car..
or bad relays. H.L

Need to know what "trans failsafe mode" message

Trans failsafe is "Limp" mode, it means a sensor has triggered due to a fault in OBC. You need to bring it to BMW or a competent shop to have a fault scan done to identify the actual cause. Limp mode allows you to drive short distance (so you're not stranded roadside)

Had a used transmission installed after burn-out of original trani on 1986 BMW 325es. Original burned up due to leaking connector hose. "New" one is noisey on shifting, a clunking sound at lower speeds and...

Get a second opinion! We had a trans replaced that failed. The mechanic told my in laws I was seen beating the car on a particular day. Actually I was working in New York. Caught him in a lie and got our money back! My point, get it checked a few times. I have been told another trans of mine was shot by a trans shop. Actually my TV cable just needed adjusted. It was fine!

HI, I WANT TO BUY A BMW 2002, BUT I DONT KNOW WICH SERIES WILL BE BETTER, SERIES 3 OR SERIES 5??? THANKS. BOTH 100000 MILES.

BMW get bigger and more expensive as you move up in the Series. So if better equals more room and status, get the 5 series.

My car wont move forward or reverse

Chances are is that the torque converter needs to be replaced. However, the transmssion on this vehicle are only serviceable by transmision shops. No regular mechanic will open up the transmission. When the torque converter fails (clutch and plates shutters to small pieces) the debri flows in the transmision thereby potentially destroying the gears and/or clogging the filter and pump. Go straight to a reputable transmission shop and let them correctly diagnose the transmission.

Which transmision is in my 2002 ford explorer 4wheel drive xlt ?

Check your owners manual. Use the Veh Vin on dash or registration to have dealer run it for you. There is all sort of info on that on the web. Look at Motorcraft site. Go to trans shop Etc. May be a 5R55W. What engine? 4x4?

Hi i locked my bmw 323i with key pad now it wont

the BMW is complicated since i had a similar problem with mine. the keypad is connected partly to the ECM and the TDS. the connector to the keypad partially gets corroded over time and wont send the correct signal to disable the alarm. Check the connection first. if it is fine. disconnect the power to the battery for 5 minutes to let the TDS reset and try again. if it fails then chances are the key pad is faulty
