Message on dash says Drivers door is open , when drivers door is completely closed. I've removed the door latch and examined operation. No problem there. There is no separate door ajar switch. Switch is located in door latch. Is the switch in the latch defective or is there an electrical problem in a door module. A new latch is $400 and a used latch is $250.

SOURCE: My Drivers door window will not auto drop when i

If the driver's side window is supposed to drop auto-
matically, when you open the door.I'd suspect the
tiny switch on the lower section of the door, which
should also operate your interior lights,is either loose,
or not working properly. Open the door, and find the
little push button switch, and operate it manually with
your finger. If the window operates properly, the switch
isn't making full contact with the door jamb.If it does
not work at all,it might just be bad,and need replacing. Good luck.

Remove inner door latch and try operating the rod manually (vice grips). If locked, spray everything inside the door with WD-40 or the like and try operating the lock.

Drivers door won't open from either side

Need to remove inner door panel and reconnect the open door latch mechanism. Easiest way to go is examine the good other door for operation and then compare with the door that is not working.

I have a 2010 f150 the dome lights will not shut off ever

Dome lamps operate from door latches. Most common problem is drivers door latch switch. The switch is built into the latch assembly and is accessed by removing door panel. Try spraying WD 40 into latch assembly and opening/closing door several times to see if this corrects the problem. If a 2 door with side opening doors to rear, possible broken wiring to the swing door where it meets the body

My door handle wont open my door on the drivers side. I have to roll down my window to open the door from the outside latch. Is it repairable, or do I have to replace any parts?

I have shaved door handles on a 2000 chevy silverado and the drivers side door just recently stopped opening it seems like its completely locked out and the door is closed so i cannot get to the bolts of the latch assembly when i hit the unlock button it unlocks half way and when you go to open the door it relocks itself even if you manually try to unlock the door and hold the lock forward it still wont open

Power windows will not work gauges speedo and tach all read o when drivers door is closed when opened all work properly on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee

Check the dash for proper grounding and also check the door harness where it passes through the boot for breaks or shorting. The door may be completing the body ground through the latch.
