Hi to me if the clicking noise is coming from the engine then this points towards the startor motor packing up one thing you can try to get it started is give the starter motor a few hard hits with a hammer doing this sometimes shock the selenoid into working again but dont rely on this lasting long term as it could leave you stuck

the best option is to get the starter replaced as soon as you can

to locate the starter follow the live red lead from the battery this goes to the selenoid on the starter and the big round thing next to the small round part is the startor motor give the bigger part a few taps with a hammer doing this should get it started

Well the fact that the traction light came on and blinked off when taking off is a good thing, it just means that your traction control is working properly. When that light comes on it means that one wheel was spinning and that the car adjusted the speed of the drive wheels to compensate. The car not starting needs to be addressed as to whether the car is turning over slowly, clicking, or making no noise at all. The check engine light will remain on until the vehicle is started, so that does not correlate to your problem. If it clicks, or turns over sluggishly, then it just needs a jump start and a test of the battery. If the lights come on, but the car does not turn over al all, then you may need to look at replacing a starter.

The red plastic cover should just pop off, then you will see the head of the terminal bolt. you'll need to remove the braket holding the battery in place, just remember to replace it to hold the new battery still.

please remove all extra keys and gadjets from keyring and go through the painful exercise of starting the old girl and once started go for a drive good luk if all goes well replace ignition switch good luck with this answer
