2007 mitsubishi endeavor has service engine soon light on. Went to auto zone to have it checked for code and it came back P0300. Car has 78000 miles and seems to be running okay. A few days ago I drove the car 150 miles to visit my daughter (before light was on) and got caught in a 4 hour stop and go traffic jam. Car was fine. Didn't over heat. Drove it a couple times the next day and still no light. The car sat for 3 or 4 days without being driven and the next time I got in it the TCL off light was on and the service engine soon light . I pushed button on dash and turned TCL on and the light has stayed off but service engine soon light still on. I know the code shows a misfire with a few possible causes. Auto Zone sold me injector cleaner to put in gas tank and said it could possibly be injectors were dirty. I haven't used it yet. They also said could be possibly the gas. I do use the super grade of gas. Is this something serious or something I can wait and see as long as car seems fine? I do plan on making the 150 mile trip home in a few days. I have never had a tune up or done anything else for that matter to the car other then brakes, new battery and regular oil changes.

SOURCE: oil light goes on...had a

I wouldn't recommend synthetic oil for a car that appears to have a small leak. Synthetic oil is very thin and will find that smallest of leaks and leave you adding oil all the time. Considering the length of your commute, I'd go with a heavier oil (10W40) or heavier and change the oil every 3000 miles. If the heavier oil doesn't solve your problem, you will need to identify the leak and get it repaired.

SOURCE: 1998 Grand Prix ...Last week I got gas when

If I'm understanding you correctly, you believe you got contaminated gas from a station where they had recent work done on their tanks. If that's so, Now that you've run most of the gas out I would start by changing the fuel filter then fill the tank with good gas (I might even go up on grade for this tank). Although it's unlikely you may have gotten a fair amount of dirt or water, you may want to try adding some dry gas in case there is still water in the bottom of your tank.
If the new filter seems to clear the problem but it come back after a short while you'll need to take the tank off and flush it. If you do it yourself don't dump the gas on the ground. If you have to flush your tank you'll need to flush the gas lines and replace the fuel filter again.

Testimonial: "Thank you. no, my car didnt have work done at station I got gas from, but I did have a lot work done a month ago elsewhere. I will have my son change the fuel filter. Hopefully that works, and hope the tank doesn't have to be removed to be drained. "

Service engine soon light just turned on in my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. The car has approximately 76,000 miles on it. Nothing seems to be wrong with the car. What does this light indicator mean?

this could be anything from a losse petrol cap, to a loose vaccuum line, or a fault with a sensor...or womething else...very hard to diagnose without the error code number...which the engine computer logs when the light comes on......you need to take the vewhilce to a mechanic, or auto-zone on the us who will read the codes for you...this will give you the directioin to which will find the answer
