If you go on Mercedes USA website http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/index and choose "owner support "then pick the model and year for your car handbook it should explain it there. Usually just pressing the correct buttons in sequence.
HI,
The oil filter is a canister type filter on the top of the engine. You need to pop off the engine cover and you will see the filter cap in the front of the engine. To take it off I would suggest using the special Mercedes filter removal tool. If this is not an option you could use large pliers. Just be careful as this cap is plastic.
pull on the noob right next to the time one way changes hours other way changes min. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!pull hard on noob that you can turn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are turning in the vehicle in 3 months I wouldn't worry about changing the oil. In the old days, they use to say change it every 6,000 miles and then as a way to make more money, they started saying every 3,000 miles. But if you really want to reset your computer, unplug your negative cable from your battery terminal and leave it off for five minutes. On a mercedes, they are very advanced piece of work, but doing this may give you another message regarding losing power, so do this at your own risk.
The spanner or wrench you are seeing indicates how many miles are remaining before your vehicle is supposed to have the oil changed. Normally this is about a 10,000 mile interval and may be reset after an oil change by following this procedure...
Do the following steps:
Move start switch to position "2".
Within the first 4 seconds after moving the start switch to position 2,
press the reset button for the trip counter twice within one second.
The display for the service request is activated for about 10 seconds.
Within these 10 seconds, move the start switch into position "0". The service request continues to be displayed.
Press the reset button for trip counter and keep it pressed.
Move the start switch into position "2".
Continue to hold the reset button for the trip counter pressed
until the signal sounds and the new start distance appears in the
display (it takes about 10 seconds).
