Usually the engine will run poorly, your fuel consumption will be higher than normal and if they are really bad you might get misfiring on the engine. Changing them isn't difficult and the plugs don't cost a lot. Old filters can also give similar symptoms.
If your worried I would suggest you give the car a major service. This covers all the filters, (fuel, air, oil), fresh oil and a full set of spark plugs.
Switch to non synthetic oil, of the CORRECT WEIGHT for your engine (specified in manual and on oil cap). and see of that stops the consumption. There is a semi synthetic available from Castrol, called high mileage blend. This oil actually helps consumption issues.
well if its not leaking i would say check the antifreeze for oil in it and if there isnt any then i would say your piston rings are going bad these are all possibilities if you have high miles
Oil consumption is outside specification, and needs around a litre of oil every 7 500km, not unusual for a race-bred engine. But, if you are only getting 1 litre for only 1500, you might want to change brand of oil, or ensure you are using the right type of oil.......
That depends on the engine and the fuel used. My W124 4 door 2 liter petrol engine running on Regular CO95 does 7 liter/100km on road and 12l/100km it a very congested city.
you may want to upgrade your oil to a thicker oil that helps alot more than people think its normal anywhere from 1qt to 1/2 a qt every 3000 miles that sounds pretty good and a healthy engine upgrade on brands and viscosity that should take care of that but it will burn more oil if the engine is being broken into for the first time if its brand new
from the tail pipe that is?
Are you noticing any blue or white smoke coming from the car during idle or acceleration?
sounds like normal oil consumption to me.
