Can't find location of fuel filter/

Location of the fuel filter on a 1989 Mercedes Benz 420 sel

Hi,

The fuel filter is located on the right rear underside of the car, just ahead of the rear axel area. You need to remove the cover to find it. It is the large canister next to the electric fuel pump.

The fuel filter is located under the car just in front the of rear axle near the right side (passenger side if you're in the USA). It's right there with the fuel pump. Make sure you depressurize the fuel line before changing it though. :) Also have a fire extinguisher close by - just in case things get crazy.

There is an in tank fuel screen where the fuel feed line screws into the bottom of the fuel tank. The is also a convertional fuel filter which is located just in front of the rear wheel on left or right side depending on model. I have a wagon and mine is on the right side. There is a plastic panel that you need to remove with a 10mm socket and a long extention. There are three screws to remove before you can get to the fuel pump/fuel filter area.

check the right rear underside of the car, just forward of the axle. its probably hidden by a cover.

check inside of the trunk lid on driver side quarter panel or inside driver door

just forward of fuel pump under car looks like an old skinny coffee can.

hi,you my remove again the filter,fill clean diesel before you install,make sure all the gasket are tight,ty
