My 2000 Hyundai Tiburon heater does not work. When I bought it I was told a local mechanic flipped a switch to make it work in the winter. Supposedly the part that is malfunctioning is expensive. Does anyone know of what switch they could be talking about. I assumed the heater was stuck on and they installed a valve in the line to the heater core. No such luck. I cannot find relays or fuses for the heater and at this point assume it is the switch console itself. Thoughts?

Had the same problem and the motor is pricey. We went to a junk yard and found the same car and bought the door. We took it to a local small mechanic and he took the one and replaced it to ours. Never had another problem with the window, If you can find the same card in a junk yard it would be the cheapest way. hope that helps.

the heater core could be stopped up not letting the liquid circulate or if there is a switch or a thermostat in heater hose it may be broke not letting the coolant flow .radiator cap bad .all these things can make the system lose a little coolant at a time until it is to low to cool then it will run hot & boil the rest out.check these things.i wish you luck all things can be a pain in the astric if you know what i mean

Check fuse box in engine bay (should be near battery) inside should be the fuse for high beam and low beam.

Getting your battery checked was a good start. The next step is to check your starter motor:

no, it does not..probably needs a crankshaft position sensor, very common, probably has high milage right.or poss bad fuel pump, also common with high milage
