SOURCE: honda civic 2003 transmission

Its possible that your transmissions Shift Solonoids could be acting erratically, either because they themselves are faulty, or the transmission's ECU is faulty, or maybe even the wiring between the two is somewhat faulty.

However it is also possible that your transmission's Speed Governor is holding too much pressure and doesn't realize it needs to downshift when you start slowing down.

Thirdly it is also possible that your Torque-Converter lockup may be siezed, or the wiring feeding it may be faulty.

Transmission repairs are usually somewhat pricey, and difficult to pinpoint, and fix, and I'm sorry to say that most of these causes to your problem really can't be checked without pulling the transmission out of the car, and disassembling it to see what the problem is.

SOURCE: Need to input my radio code on 2005 Honda Civic

ok your radio displays ERR , OK 3 options let it sit for an hour turned on , to reture to CODE display , or pull the radio fuse out for a minute and put it back in , returning to the CODE display , or disconnect the battery for a minute , returning to the CODE display . you got the ERR display because the code was wrong or not entered correctly , make your choice of getting the radio back to the CODE display by 1 of those 3 choices , while the radio displays CODE , use the preset buttons , if the first number of your code is 4 , then press the #1 preset button 4 time , when the first number has been input , put the 2nd number in by pressing the #2 prest button , if 2nd number of code is 8 , press the # 2 preset button 8 times till the # 8 is displayed , and so on . you see where this is giong ? when you have entered all the numbers correctly you will have you radio back . when you say you have the radio code , good luck ! were rooting for ya .

My Honda. Civic automatic 2005 exe rolls back on the hill when in gear.why is this It's do e 37,000 miles

f you are on a steep enough hill your car will roll backwards auto or not. if you are not on the gas the engine is simply not making enough torque for the transmission to keep you from rolling.

Why does my car have trouble switching gears?

P0730 is your problem code for incorrect gear ratio, this is usually due to a bad clutch pack in the transmission, meaning it needs rebuilt or get a remanufactured one.

2001 honda civic lx - car slipped out of drive and would not accelerate in drive. shifted to lower gear (D3) and it ran fine. next day and ever since it has ran fine in Drive. Check engine light is on with...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. I would advise you to have your transmission checked as soon as you can. You might need to check your fluid and change your transmission filter first to see if that helps. But, more then likely, your transmission will need worked on since it slipped. That may be just the beginning.

Gear engages a little late

Your transmission is slipping. Check the fluid to make sure it is full. If not bring it up to full and see if the problem persists. If it does you probably have a major problem~make a note of whether it does it worse when cold or at running temperature, if you experience any shudder when changing gears climbing hills etc to determine possible faults.
