Acura rl 2000 cooling fan does not work when engine is running
If you can locate the temperature switch, looks like a large bolt head with 2 wires on it, bridge the wires on it, and this should make the fan work. If the fan works then this switch is faulty. If the fan doesn't then it could be the fuse, or a broken wire.
The fan switch is either on the radiator or on the thermostat housing.
If you can get to it easy, short across with a screwdriver.

Yes, I understand that..however, I have been in bumper to bumper traffic and in the drive thru at Mcdonalds. The fan did not come on (on most occassions) even after the temp. guage reached the maximum "H" on the guage.

this fan doesn't come on until the engine reaches around 225 Deg Fahrenheit, do u understand that? that will be well on the way to hot, about 2/3 scale on the gauge.
