The coil pack shorted on 1996 Caravan and after replacing it the vehicle will not start. Do you have any idea what I should check next. It started fine before the pack shorted out.
My coil pack shorted and after replacing it the Pack will not fire a spark plug. I tried resetting the ECM and it will still not fire. I was told that it may be the computer. Is this possible and if so where is the computer located. Also all the fuses are working on the fuse bar under the hood from halfway up to the windshield and none work from halfway down toward the grill area. It is a 1996 Dodge Caravan with a 3.3 engine. Any help would be apprecitated.

the pack shorted because a electrode where the plug wire goes on was unknowingly broke and when it was trying to be started the wired sparked against the pack. It was a visible arc. And now it wont fire after installing a new coil pack. There is no fusible link and I tried to reset the ECM. Still not luck. Someone thought it could be the computer. Does anyone know other solutions. the pack shorted because a electrode where the plug wire goes on was unknowingly broke and when it was trying to be started the wired sparked against the pack. Your charcoal canister may be full. It's a black box (usually taller than wide) with hoses and possible wire running to it mounted under the vehicle near the fuel tank or under hood. It captures fuel vapors and sends them to the engine to be burnt. Check for codes too, YouTube or Google can tell you how to distract codes using your ignition key.
FUEL FILTER,,IF IT IS OLD-REPLACE!
FUEL PUMP NOT REALLY SUSPECT.....BUT POSSIBLE AS IN A THERMAL SHORTING (AFTER A SHORT TIME)
YOU HAVE TO DETERMINE WHETHER THIS DELAYED STALL ISSUE, IS COMING FROM A FUEL OR ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. IE: ELECTRIC CUT OUT...SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER...FUEL ISSUES: ROUGH RU..THEN SHUTS DOWNNING, BUCKING & SURGING
IF YOUR NOT FIXED...JEFF AT: JLGPROP@!YAHOO.COM THE WORX GROUP L.L.C.
Unplug these items, - coil pack - the multi wire connector on the back of the alternator - both oxygen sensors
Install a new fuse and see if it blows when you turn the key on. If it does than there could be a problem with the fuel injectors or the wiring to the injectors or any of the items that where unplugged.
if it doesn't plug the coil pack back in and start the vehicle. If it blows with the coil pack plugged in replace the coil pack.
If it still doesn't blow with the coil pack plugged in and the engine running shut it down and plug in the alternator and start the vehicle. If it blos with the alternator plugged in replace the alternator.
Continue the same steps with the O2 sensors if needed.

fouled plug (checked)
bad wires(checked)
coil pack(checked)
ignition signal to coil pack( switch old coil pack to a working cylinder to make sure its good and you may find a possible short in the wiring to the coil pack) alternately check the voltage to the wires going to the coils make sure like colors have like voltages. im not too big into ford trucks but thats a good start for most vehicles
possibly injector stuck open and flooding cylinders
timing could be off
is the idle air control solenoid next to the air intake tube good. did you relearn the cam and crank sensor after installing them. you need a good scantool to do this. try the iac solenoid first. best of luck
