My 99 Acura 3tl flashes a green key on dashboard and stalls out. I can get it restarted after sitting for a while. What's wrong??

If the green key is flashing then the immobilizer is not recognizing your key. If you have another key, try it. If no key works then the car will need to be further diagnosed to find out if the computer or the immobilizer unit by the key is the problem. Poss bad connection in the dashboard circuit, bad circuit board (if dash is electronic)

Did who checked the engine, did he check spark plugs? Give it a shot to check if they are ok or do they need replacement.

See the Acura dealer to diagnose and repair this.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

the port is probably under your steering wheel, like above where your feet and legs sit. you need an OBD1 (on board diagnostic) scanner. Some places do it free, some charge, or you can buy the cheaper one at auto zone for like 50 bucks. or the nice one for like 300. call around and see who will do it for free :)

The 420 code means you need the catalytic converter replaced. The TCS means Traction Control System. The green key is the theft system. Both lights MAY have nothing to do with the car shutting off Sometimes those lights will display when something elese makes the car stall. Perhaps a faulty crank sensor or the cat is so clogged its stalling out the car.

STALLING IS USUALLY, CONTAMINANTS IN THE FUEL. CHANGE UR BRAND OF GAS, TEXACO FOR SHELL....PROBABLY A BAD BATCH. FILL THE TANK UP AND ADD A GOOD QUALITY GAS TREATMENT, LIKE STP. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOTTLE. ALSO A PLUGGED FUEL FILTER. THE FUEL FILTER IS PROBABLY ATTACHED TO THE FUEL PUMP INSIDE THE GAS TANK. IF THATS THE CASE, ITS A TRIP TO THE MECHANIC.

Could be the ignition switch, if the green key light is flashing then the issue is the switch. There was a recall issued for the ignition switch for this car back in 03 for the 97 to 99 Acura CL.

There is a known issue with the ignition switch on the 98 Acura CL 3.0. The ignition was recalled by the manufacturer. This happened to my 98 CL as well. Since it was a recall, Acura may replace the ignition switch for you at no cost, not sure though as they announced the recall in 2003 I believe.
