There may be a light staying on and thus draining your battery. If there is a bulb in the trunk, check whether the switch works. The same applies to the bulb in the cabin.

SOURCE: My 98 VW New Beetle, I bought used will not start.

Hi I am Vortash you say you purchased the car yesterday had it been standing long if so what is the condition of the battery ?. Best thing to do is take it off and put it on charge overnight and see what the amperage draw is in the morning .. it should reduce as it is charged .. Have you a spark at the spark plug and if you do are the plugs in good condition some plugs spark outside the cylinder and fail under pressure , are the plugs wet indicating that the petrol is getting through or dry indicating not ? is the fuel fresh how long has it been in the vehicle add more to be sure .. check fuel filters are they clear and air filters ... finaly .. is there compression if you can place a compression tester in the plug port then crank the car it should read at least 120 to 150 psi or in the green if it has no numbers .. if it is low then the problem may be badly seated valves or cylinder head gasket ...... also check the fuses the it may be something as simple as that hope this helps Regards Vortash ..

SOURCE: 2004 VW Beetle no power to Radio

Your radio is most likely in "safe mode", an anti-theft feature. There's a 4-digit code that will need to be entered in order to get the radio operational. The code may be on a label inside the spare tire well in your trunk (some years). Otherwise the code can be obtained from the VW dealer with the car's VIN number and serial number from your radio.

1999 vw Beetle goes dead while driving replace battery and alternator still doing it no battery light comes on

Is The battery charging when the engine is running? The voltage at the battery should be close to 14 volts DC when the engine is running at about twice the idle speed. If it is then it may be worth checking that your regulator/Rectifier has failed.

If you can take battery out and take it to a parts store and they will charge it for free. If you have a charger of your own then disconnect battery and charge it in car

My 2002 VW Beetle (not turbo) after charging battery won't run

Hopefully you are using the same ignition key you had before to start the car. This flip module mhas a chip that tells the system you have the proper key. If for some unknown reason the system lost this program it is probably a dealer only problem. The chip is inside the fob right near the key itself.

Battery wont stay charged, alternator problem?

I suggest that you take the car to an autoparts store and have them check the alternator output. That will tell whether the alternator is putting out sufficient voltage to keep the battery charged or not. Most parts stores will check the alternator for free. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Does a 2001 VW Beetle Turbo need to have a charge at 12.6 volts to conduct a parasitic draw test? I am told by a repairman that he cannot find out what is going on until I get a new alternator, batter

this is not true, a parasitic draw can be found with the battery in any state of charge, yhe purpose of this test is to find out out what is drawing current, meaning amperage from the battery and at what rate. take this to a certified mechanic, should be easy to find with the right tools.if you need more help get back to me. please rate my fix as i stive to be the best Thanks Ray
