If you look on your dashboard next to the button to reset the kilometers ( to the left ) you'll see a ruber plug you just need to pull it off and you'll see a small button , all you need to do is to find something that can go through to push it and this will reset the light until the next oil change, by then you will know how to reset it. Hope this help you. Good luck. Miguel

you need to remove the rubber plug that is just below the spidometer and then you will be able to press the button hidden under that rubber plug, if you do that, this will reset the ligth untill your next oil change.

Change the oil, or pull off the battery cables and hold them together for a second and put them back on.

Hi there,
The speedometer and tachometer of my toyota lucida is not working.
1 mechanic said it was the ECU , the other said the speedo and tachometer are busted which is which ? are the speedo and tach connected to the ECU or is it directly connected to the trans /engine?
The engine is 3CTE diesel turbo with manual trans.
Please help. thanks.

The rubber plug is probably long gone so look for just a hole in the dash glass & a straightened paper clip works well to push the button.

You need to hook up a test oil pressure gauge and see what the pressure is. Then work from there. My guess is you have already ruined the bearings.

Hold the reset button ( the mileage button) while key is in the car but not engaged all the way, I think it is 5 seconds.

Toyota lucida estima 1993. What is the container on the driver side, under the bonnet, with engine oil inside used for?

normaly that would be true, except our vans have an extra oil resivewar (sorry i cant spell) under the hood, its on the passenger side of mine(battery and air filter on driver side). What it does is dump more oil into your pan if level gets old. also cycles oil from pan to res back to pan, lessens oil change visits.

Hi i have a 2000 estima van, 3000cc just been serviced and is blowing alot of blue smoke especially under load? only done 92000 kms.

there are very small oil galleries in that engine and the varnish will build up and restrict the flow of oil and it will leak past the valve guides.
do a compression test, and if it is good, the oil is not burning from the rings.,but from the valve guides.the seals need to be changed.
