CHECK URE PTU POWER TRANSITOR UNIT LOCATED UDER COIL PACKS (LOOKS LIKE A FLAT BOX WITH A SCREW ON EACH SIDE AND TWO ELECT. PLUGS AT BOTTOM THEY CHECK THEM AT AUTOZONE FOR FREE IF NOT THEN CHECK URE ECU FOR BLOWN OR LEAKY CAPICITORS AS THIS IS ALSO COMMON ON THESE CARS IF ECU'S BAD THEN LOOK UP ECU TO GO GOOD PLACE JUST TELL CHRIS ALLEN SENT U

IF ITS ONLY MISSING AT THOSE RPMS THEN IT COULD BE A NUBER OF THINGS LIKE CAS BEING OFF, SPARK PLUGS GAPPED INCORRECTLY,FUEL FILTER,FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR,NO POWER TO AN INJECTOR ,TIMING OFF ,ECU,N YES COILPACK, START SMALL BECAUSE IF IT WAS COIL PACK IT WOLD DO IT CONSTANTLY, N SOMTIMES WHEN ECU IS GOING OUT IT DOES FUNNY STUFF LIKE THAT LIKE NOT LETTIN SOME THINGS WORK AND THROWIN CELLS ON OTHERS N BUY THA TIME U FIG ITS ECU U ALREADY BOUGHT EVERYTHING

Are you able to check the ECU for faults. On this car there is an access to the ECU. With the use of an analog multi-meter you can check the ECU for faults; gives you signals like a morse code using dots and dashes with the meter's needle Doing this could lead you right to the problem. With no spark could be the No. 1 Cylinder Top Dead Center is failing; this is within the distributor on the SOHC engine (it uses light pulses thru a rotating disc to establish spark) A long shot being the wire harness. Our son has 93 Stealth with same engine he was having runability problems. It would idle fine and even rev fine in "Park" Once placed in gear it would seemingly sputter and die out. By a stroke of luck one night (no lights on) I saw a small blue spark coming from the wiring to / from the coil. On investigation found the the coil bracket had rubbed thru the insulation on wiring. When in Park it was no problem but once placed in gear the engine would slightly torque and push the bracket in to the wiring causing a short and the engine to die. Any chance you have or can use a meter? I can get you the codes.

im not sure the problem. but i took the ecu and tcu outta mine and it worked for a lil wile. then it was fixed for good then it wont shift outta 3rd when od is off and it stays n 3rd when od is on. any help would b great.

sounds like a bad ground or a bad connection someplace.

If you're gettign a lot of clicking, it coulod be your ECU. Go to 3si.org and do a search for ecu replacement. It's located in your centre console. The 92-94s had capacitor problems, but yours is much later, so without more information, it's hard to fully diagnose your problem.

its under the dash, behind the radio. to get to it, you need to remove the panel on the side of the console.

Possiable IAC valve sticking or faulty TPS.
